Jan Dziaczkowski was one of the most talented artists in the younger generation. He was a painter, photographer, illustrator, and creator of collages. In 2007, he graduated from the Painting Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including: Keine Grenze – ZPAF i S-ka, Krakow (2008) and Laurence Miller Gallery, New York, USA (2010), Modernización, Cuenca/ Spain (2010).
He died tragically in the Tatras in September 2011.
In 2012, the Foundation for the Visual Arts began working with the inheritors of Jana Dziaczkowski’s work to promote the artist and secure his archive. A limited edition of 300 posters was produced with illustrations made by Jan on commission from the monthly magazine "Architektura-murator", reproduced on the cover of issue 9/2009.
The poster is available at the FVA webshop and up until June 17 in the Krakow Photomonth Festival Bureau in the Bunkier Sztuki Contemporary Art Gallery. All proceeds from the sale of the posters will be devoted to the setting up of the archive and publication of an album with Dziaczkowski’s work.
