We’ve survived the weekend with the openings of the Main Programme exhibitions whose curators are Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin. We have the winner of this year's sittcomm.award competition – Maroš Krivý. If you haven’t yet seen the winning works from the New Coat of Paint cycle, it’s worth visiting the WyspiaĹski Pavilion (open daily). We were also delighted to welcome you to the numerous vernissages for artists from the ShowOFF Section.

The list of events was completed by a meeting with the stars of this year's Photomonth: Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin gave a tour of the most important exhibition in this year's Main Programme Alias. A Review; Bruno Ceschel presented the best photobooks created following the precepts of Self Publish, Be Happy; and Roger Ballen talked about his Boarding House project.
The main photographic attractions of the past three days were interspersed with a variety of accompanying events. Thanks for the great time at Klub Fabryka, for your participation and support at the game on the beach, and for the chance to see press photographs together in the open air during Slide Nite.
Although there were loads of events, the Festival is just beginning!
We still have one exhibition from the Main Programme to open, which is important not just because of its subject matter – six alternative biographies of Madelaine Sante (born in Bruges), but also because of its location. It can be seen in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow. MOCAK (for that is its acronym) is an excellent place to display contemporary art. Come and join us at the opening on Thursday, 19 May, at 18:00. The event will be linked to the opening of four other contemporary art exhibitions.
There will be no shortage of meetings, presentations, workshops and screenings of films on photography and photographers.
Please read the detailed schedule and plan the next four weeks with Photomonth in Krakow.
