PHOTOMONTH IN KRAKOW — 2010
MAREK KURZOK
"Five-Shooter" is the Fotopolis.pl photography competition, made up of five rounds. The winner of each of them gains points and prizes. This year our readers had seemingly bland topics to deal with: "Family Portrait" or "Pages from Summer Holidays", which were to be interpreted in creative and subversive ways. The winner of the largest number of points, and the winner of the 2009 Grand Prix, was Marek Kurzok.
Marek Kurzok
Born in 1987, in Bystrzyca KĹodzka. He presently lives WrocĹaw, where he attends the State Academy for Cultural Animators and Librarians. He began taking pictures six years ago. He treats it as little more than a hobby – as a beginning stage to making films. He has been exploring horror-related themes for an extended period of time. He uses this genre to show people’s phobias, weaknesses, imperfections, the evil side of people, and death itself. His photography also touches upon the grotesque.
