BarĹomiej Lurka 25/25
Dad got married when he was my age, and I came into the world two years later. Black-and-white photographs and the first pram, which his mother sent him from America. Postcard which always show the same thing. The watch he got for his 18th birthday from his father, now in my possession. The next picture: a party – Dad embracing two women, and beside him, a friend with another (beautiful) woman – my mother, as it was to turn out. This is the story of first love and separation. Two years of military service and love letters. 25/25 is an intimate catalogue analysing 25 years of my dad’s life from the standpoint of the time I myself have lived. Through the objects that surrounded him I have tried to find out who he is and used to be. I wanted to understand the differences and the similarities. And to define our present relationship.
