Mateusz Sadowski Entwine
Entwine can be read with a few pointers. One is the frame of the installation, including two photos of a female nude with a falling match. The photos relate to the time period (30 milliseconds) when the human brain is sampling and processing information about the reality surrounding it. The second indicator is individual time perception. The photos were created spontaneously. I took photos of forms surrounding me, or documented processes of creating objects I’m working on. I took the photos in negative, on slides, and using the camera in a mobile phone, and then processed them digitally. The Entwine from the title refers to the network of connections my brain makes when I’m constructing the compositions, and the viewer’s brain makes while making sense of the work. The photos are the eyes of this net.
