Self-publishing is still very difficult to define. During the panel discussion, together with the invited guests we will consider the role of self-publishingu, or as some prefer DIY publishing or independent publishing. We will particularly be focusing on photobooks, which are photographic books published at the artists’ own expense. There are many doubts and questions about the form, though self-publishing is becoming an ever trendier medium of expression for artists of many provenances.

The panel will be moderated by Maryna Tomaszewska, artist, curator, editor-in-chief of “TO! Periodyk Najgorszy”. The history of self-publishing in Poland and around the world, its current state and future will be discussed by the editor-in-chief of “Wydawnictwo 40000 malarzy”, Kuba Banasiak, artist and editor of DIK Fagazine , Karol Radziszewski, Michael Woliński, editor of the irregularly published “Piktogram”, and Paweł Jarodzki, artist and creator of Poland’s most famous artzine – Luxus.
