PHOTOMONTH IN KRAKOW — 2011
ADAM BROOMBERG AND OLIVER CHANARIN TAKE YOU AROUND THE ALIAS. A SURVEY EXHIBITION
Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin are a duo of photographers from London. They have been working together for over ten years and have published seven books, including “Fig”, “Mr Mkhize’s Portrait”, and “Ghetto”. They are known to Krakow festival audiences for two exhibitions – “Ghetto” in 2007, and “Afterlife”, last year (at the ZPAF i Ska gallery): a manipulated record of an execution based on photos by Jahangir Razmi taken during the Iranian revolution. In their own words, they are mainly interested in the language of documentary photography. This year they are the guest curators for the Main Programme of the Photomonth in Krakow Festival.
