PHOTOMONTH IN KRAKOW — 2011
FROM PHOTOJOURNALIST TO PHOTOGRAPHER Â PANEL DISCUSSION ON PRESS PHOTOGRAPHY
The discussion, to be held at the Camelot Gallery, is a meeting of photographers and photo editors, who do not accept the thesis that this is the end of reportage in the print media. The environment in which photojournalists do their jobs has changed, the differences between gallery and press photography have blurred, and new media offer new opportunities. Photos still have the power to tell stories about the world around us.
Methods of raising funds for photo projects, and working with agencies, collectives, and foundations will be discussed by: MichaĹ KoĹyga (Association of Photojournalists), Beata ĹyĹźwa SokóĹ (Photoeditor for “Gazeta Wyborcza”, blogger on “Exercises in Seeing”), Marek SzczepaĹski (former photoeditor for “Przekrój”, photographer), Ĺukasz TrzciĹski (Visavis.pl Agency), Jan BrykczyĹski (Sputnik Photos Collective), PaweĹ Supernak (photojournalist for PAP). The discussion is moderated by Krzysztof Pijarski.
