PRESENTATION OF CONGO IN LIMBO, A BOOK BY CEDRIC GERBEHAYE
Akademia Fotografii invite!
“Congo in Limbo” is a photographic essay by Cédric Gerbehaye. It was created during Gerbehaye’s stay in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is the result of the author’s rigorous work and commitment. The essay raises issues about the complex and intricate, yet often overlooked, conflict. Stephen Smith, journalist and writer, expert on Africa, Andrew Philip, researcher on the Democratic Republic of Congo for Amnesty International, and Christian Caujolle, founder and artistic advisor to the VU agency and gallery, have prepared commentaries on this photographic and journalistic investigation that sheds crucial light on the Africa of the Great Lakes. www.congoinlimbo.com
Cédric Gerbehaye is a member of the VU agency. His work “Congo In Limbo” has received seven international honours, including the World Press Photo Award, the Amnesty International Media Award and the Olivier Rebbot award from the Overseas Press Club of America.
