PHOTOMONTH IN KRAKOW — 2011
PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK ROUGH CUT
7 young photographers tell 7 personal stories. Each talks about what is important to them. They penetrate and interpret everyday situations. They record fragments which they may not have paid attention to previously. They don’t have to travel far to discover. Their task is much more complicated: they discover their immediate surroundings, what they at their fingertips have every day, what supplies they’ve brought and what they are used to: an unplastered house in a small town; roadkill in the middle of the road; underwear scattered on the floor; brushing teeth; a pack of cigarettes on the table; a portrait of a man in a fireman's helmet. The photographers show that ordinary history can be fascinating, and that images are all around us – just open your eyes. RafaĹ Milach
