Inhaling is the start of life at the most basic level: the supply of oxygen to an organism, the contraction of muscles—the start of the whole biological mechanism. Inhaling is also talking, singing, prayer and meditation, the moment of passage between biology and spiritual order. Even if, ultimately, these spheres are all really the same.
Ĺukasz Rusznica (born 1980, Garwolin)
Since graduating from the Institute of Cultural Studies of the University of WrocĹaw, his work has been exhibited at the BWA Design Gallery and Studio BWA Gallery in WrocĹaw. Author of the photography books Smog and Near, Infra, his next book, NajwaĹźniejszego i tak Wam nie powiem, designed by Thomas Schostok, is soon to be published. His photographs have been featured in magazines including Biuro and Machina. Worked with Anna Ĺawrynowicz on the projects HandJob and Sama Mama, and with Waldemar Pranckiewicz on I’ll be your mirror, published as an artistic book.
