Women and cats. Tomek Brodawka doesn’t say all that much about his work. But the photos speak for themselves. They have a natural energy in them, a primeval force resulting from fascination with women. The honest emotions aroused by the female body. And the confession that to look means to get pleasure. That’s what photography is about—to get joy from looking, for it to be the result of our experiences.
Tomasz Brodawka (born 1990, Szczecin)
Exploring the field of portrait photography with a great emphasis on the nude, Brodawka has recently been exploring video art and graphic design. In his photographs he aims to record ephemeral emotions and portray interpersonal relations. He strives to avoid embellishing reality, and show the world as it is. His great inspiration is the work of Helmut Newton.
