There are only hours left before the 9th Photomonth in Krakow Festival passes into history. As a reminder, the experimental idea of this year's festival, bearing the title Alias, is an attempt to answer the question of whether it’s possible to abandon the ego and enter the biography of someone else. This year, the Festival’s Main Programme was entirely devoted to the concept of the heteronym. What’s more, all these exhibits were especially designed for Photomonth. We won’t discover anything about the artists themselves beyond the biography created for the purposes of the exhibition.
You can still see: Alias: A survey in the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art, Alias: Marine Lazarre, Bernardo Soares, Anonymous, c. 1982, Gerald D’Amato, James Wyatt at the Museum of StanisĹaw WyspiaĹski in the SzoĹayski House, Ivan P. at the ZPAF i S-ka Gallery, Lester B. Morrison and Neville Lister and the Pauza Gallery, Leina N., Lee Cluderay, Joe Cornell at the Szara Kamienica Gallery, Ignatius Sancho at the Town Hall Tower, Dora Fobert and the Museum of Stained Glass, Ezekiel Stark and I remember at the Ethnographic Museum, Madleine Sante at MOCAK, Plantinga at the Kathedra Gallery and see the film Not in order of appearance at Kino 18.
And of course, don’t forget about the work of the young Polish artists exhibited as part of the ShowOFF Section! Selected works can be purchased at the Festival Office, and thus you can initiate your own adventure in collecting.
Sunday 12 June is the last chance for a wonderful photographic fete. For the next festival on such a large-scale we’ll have to wait a year until the jubilee Photomonth in Krakow Festival, to which you are all already warmly welcomed.
